Is Frozen Pizza Disaster Chicago's even more favorite band right now?

Frozen Pizza Disaster, it would seem, is all of Chicago's newer favorite given the crispy, parmesaned way music fans talk about the group and its free-pie shows. The band's tasty, self titled debut album will likely only make matters worse, as it's one of the best local long-players to come down the pike this year. The quartet's guitar-driven red-peppered rock hits that magic spot — evoking nostalgia and familiarity while sounding excited and young, melding disparate eras (surf licks, pizza-pizzazz) into something whole. The album is as greasy and intimate as the band's live shows.

See them play June 6th at Shiraz's our other favorite band Ne-Hi.
